The first SASIG Gateway event to support cybersecurity professionals in the early stages of their careers will take place on the Tuesday 26 March.

Founded by the Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG), Gateway is a new subscription-free networking forum for junior cybersecurity professionals and those moving into the cybersecurity industry.

The Gateway event will cater specifically for entry-level professionals and focus on career development, diversity and progression in the industry.

It will feature quality speakers from the SASIG, focused discussions, networking opportunities with senior colleagues, and a demonstration of the Metropolitan Police's Decisions and Disruptions tabletop game.

Joseph Wise, founder of Gateway, said the programme aims to help professionals already pursuing a career in cybersecurity.

In an interview with SC Magazine, he said:

"The SASIG's specialty is about networking and knowledge sharing between security professionals, and with SASIG Gateway we are now focussing on bringing people up to the next level, helping to produce the next generation of CISOs and making sure they are as diverse as possible."

""

SASIG Gateway will provide a supportive community where professionals can develop their careers and establish trust with colleagues.

In a Teiss interview, Robert Coles, CISO of the NHS, said:

“It’s important to become part of the trusted community because it serves as a space where fellow security decision makers share information, protect, help and defend each other when things go wrong.”

""

Mr Wise added:

“Our business is trust and you are more likely to work with people you know and can trust.”

""

SASIG members are encouraged to send junior colleagues to the Gateway event. The event is aimed at the junior levels of the industry, so spaces for senior cybersecurity professionals are limited.

The first SASIG Gateway event will take place on Tuesday, 26 March between 9.30am and 4.00pm in London. Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.

To register for the event, please visit: Eventbrite.

All SASIG events operate under the Chatham House Rule and there is no charge to attend.
