This download is about the European Network Information System (NIS) Directive and its requirements for reducing cyber risks in essential and important services.
The NIS2 Directive, which has come into force, expands the cybersecurity regulations for operators of essential services and introduces a broader range of sectors to be compliant. The directive increases the number of sectors from seven to 15 and categorizes them as either 'essential' or 'important' services.
The NIS Directive outlines four objectives and 14 principles to manage security risks, protect against cyber attacks, detect incidents, and minimize their impact. These objectives cover areas such as governance, risk management, service protection, data security, and staff awareness and training.
